| It Turns Out Ahmadinejad Was the Truthful One
Bush is such a liar. Or is he just out to lunch on the most important issue that he faces? In October, he charged that Iran's nuclear weapons program was bringing the world to the precipice of World War III, even though the White House had been informed at least a month earlier that Iran had no such program and had stopped efforts to develop one back in 2003. Is it conceivable that Bush was telling the truth at his press conference Tuesday when he stated that he learned of the National Intelligence Estimate report, which contained that inconvenient fact, only last week? Even if Bush read the NIE report, he clearly doesn't respect it, for at his press conference he said "the NIE doesn't do anything to change my opinion about the danger Iran poses to the world-quite the contrary." Not that he has anything against the NIE, whose directors he handpicked.
Mane attraction: What about me?
Oh, how the mighty hath fallen. Experts say the cat, once worshiped as a god in ancient Egypt, is now suffering from an image problem. The result is a movement within the pet-products and -care industry to promote kitty equality. The pet business, it seems, has gone to the dogs. More than a third of the country's 90 million cats have not been to a vet in the past year, according to a survey by the American Pet Product Manufacturers Association. Even though there are 20 percent more cats in America than dogs, because cat people tend to own more than one, Americans simply spend more on their dogs. During the past 12 months, for instance, dog owners spent an average of $217 on food while cat owners spent $188. "Cats are not highly valued in our culture," says Donna Mlinek, feline programs manager for the Denver Dumb Friends League.
CHEFS DIET(R) Introduces My Solution
NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Chefs Diet(R), the leading meal delivery service provider based on the Dr. Sears' Zone Diet in the nation, announces the launch of My Solution -- a nationwide program that provides chef-prepared, gourmet frozen meals for as low as $9.99 per day*. Chefs Diet(R) created My Solution in an effort to offer programs that meet a wider variety of dieters' needs. Daniel Taugher, Director of Public Relations for Chefs Diet(R), recognized the need for a diet food delivery service for consumers seeking more economical alternatives to the company's higher priced fresh food alternatives. "Over the past two years, we have received hundreds of requests from people who want to be on our program but were concerned with the financial commitment of our more comprehensive, fresh food services," said Taugher.
Westminster talks to set unionist agenda for the future of Scotland
This looks like the typical imperialist colonial tactics Divide and Conquer and these three puppets have fallen for it.You know if this were Africa or Latin America there would be an outcry that an elected government was being usurped by those who lost and were trying to regain control. As I read on another site it said if Labour, The Tories and the Lib Dems got into bed together the result would not be nice - that is correct the result will be a bas t ard child. In the photograph they laugh and drink tea (provided by you and I the tax payer of course)What heathens they are they would not know the meaning of the word freedom and independence.Look at Singapore, no oil, no gas, no agriculture, no water, no hinterland for industrial use, yet tops all surveys for wealth, efficiency, why cant these muggles look at Scotland's interest instead of THEIR OWN.WHy not vist somewhere succesful and bring us back ideas instead of your imperialist CRAP.Trough – Snouts – Pigs- in any order you wish that is what I see when I look at that photograph.
Jury-rigged, jerry-built: Maybe a problem?
The word had popped up the week before in The New York Times Magazine article, "The Sleep-Industrial Complex," all about the mattress and pharmaceutical industries. The piece included a reference to a man who was such an enthusiast for Sleep Number Beds that he "jury-rigged something similar for his bulldog." On the subject of exactly how the dog expressed its preference for a particular Sleep Number, the author was silent. Jury-rigging is a term with nautical origins. "Rig" is one of those little words so short that it contains nearly infinite meanings (an early form of nanotechnology). One of its meanings is "the arrangement of masts, sails, etc., on a vessel." In the days of the tall ships, when a vessel on the high seas lost a mast in a storm or a battle, the ship's carpenter would fashion what was known as a jury mast from spare parts down in the hold.
Economic stimulus package dangerous in an election year
Whether or not the economy is in a recession, ordinary people are feeling the pain from the housing debacle and steep gas prices. Relief will be welcome. ...On the Net: http://www.miamiherald.com/Jan. 21The Jerusalem Post, on Hamas:Yesterday, External Relations European Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner said: "I condemn the rocket fire into Israel and we fully understand Israel's need to defend its citizens." But she also accused Israel of causing "blackouts in parts of Gaza, affecting both homes and hospitals. Closing the crossings will also result in shortages of food, medical and relief items. ... I am against this collective punishment of the people of Gaza."It would be nice if the international press and the governments that blindly took their cues from it would take a moment to consider that their Pavlovian embrace of the manufactured "humanitarian crisis" in Gaza could lead, at best, to prolonging the suffering of Gazans and Israelis and, at worst, to full blown war.
DeNucci says MBTA boosted costs by $55 million

Now, the T raises its annual budget of some $1.4 billion from fares, advertising, 20 percent share of state sales tax revenue, and assessments on member cities and towns.
